St. Paul's Cathedral

St. Paul's Cathedral has been standing for over 1400 years. Millions of Londoners and visitors have found sanctuary and attended services here throughout history and still today. I have been meaning to visit this place for months now and I finally got around to it today. It was a beautiful day out and since you can't take any pictures inside I have outside photos to prove that the sun shines every once in a while in this country.
There he is in all his glory.

 Wendlock and Mandville outside.
We begin the 528 steps up to the Golden Gallery to view all of London. We also had to walk down those steps.

That building way out there is called 'The Shard'. It was built to look like a shard of glass.
I spy, London bridge, Shakespeare's Globe and the Thames River.

Summer Fun Sans The Olympics

Before the 2012 London Olympic madness came to town, I was spending my days taking in the city sights, oh and attending summer classes. Here is a sneak peek at some of the fun.
Camden beach with Alyssa and Beck. It was actually a rooftop with sand on the ground. There was a band and a bar and you could play ping pong. Not warm, no ocean, but it was still a good time.
Making hearts in the sand.
This is an actual beach! I went to Southborne earlier in the summer and saw real life ocean!
The view from Primrose Hill. Stunning.

How I spent the Fourth of July.

Of course I found time to have a cupcake.

London Olympic Happenings

I have been dying to see Tower Bridge with the Olympic Rings on it, so Randi and I made our way into Central London and when we got there, the rings were not down in display! I was so irritated! We continued to walk toward the bridge and when we looked up, the rings were down!

In that bag that I have in my hand is an official United States of America Olympic shirt that I picked up to wear to the volleyball game. Best idea EVER!

All decked out for the volleyball game. All day we would pass people in Central and if I noticed they had any USA symbolism on their person I would then yell: USA!
 USA vs. Serbia

 USA wins!!!!!!

We sat next to an older couple, who I think were from Scotland or Ireland, the nicest man I've met in this country. Without saying much he passed his bag of assorted toffee and shared with Randi and I. It was human kindness at it's simplest.
Before the Italy vs. Algeria volleyball game.

Italy wins!!!
This video is from the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. It's a quick parade before the actual ceremony. I'm too short to actually take pictures so if you want to see it, come to London.
