I spy with my London Eye

In continuance of my birthday Jubilee, we went on the London Eye. It was Awesomeness dipped in cool sauce. I am usually scared of heights, and I freaked out a couple of times, but I didn't give into my fears. I can't wait to go on it during the day.

There she is in all her round beauty.

On the Eye, you can see Big Ben between Alice and I.
Opening presents.
Alice got me earrings and the tiara.
Shahida bought this wall hang for me. She knows me so well.
Faith and Coco with the birthday girl.
Whew, getting pretty high.
Here is the gang from left to right: Alice, Shahida, Faith, Cody and Coco.
Now I'm in the picture.
Faith and I.
After the Eye, we went to the Slug and Lettuce where we had some birthday cake.
Coco bought me a Mocktail.

Some fun facts about the London Eye:

  • It took seven years and the skills of hundreds of people from five counties to make the London Eye a reality

  • You can see around 40KM (25 miles) from the top as far as Windsor Castle on a clear day

  • Each rotation takes about 30 minutes, meaning a capsule travels at a stately 26cm per second-twice as fast as a tortoise sprinting!

I love November! For my birthday week, we began the celebrations on Monday night. Alice, Shahida and I went to dinner in Kensington at a restaurant called Sopranos. It was yummy Italian food.

No, it wasn't cake, but Apple pie will do...for now.

The waiter found out it was my birthday so he came back with 3 shots of something on the house! I let the girls split mine.

It was a great night to start of the birthday festivities!

Here is me on my birthday! Notice the new jumper/shirt/scarf. A present to me, from me.

Shahida and I got pedi's after class.

The colour I chose is called 'Smoking Hot'

That night Alyssa and Kerry-Ann and I went into Central for a little shopping and dinner.

The Sherlock Holmes Pub and Restaurant

Sorry about the fuzzy picture, Sherlock is in the background there.

Sorry, blurry is all I have.

Man! This was so cool! I wish it was in focus.

When I moved here, I brought one insecurity with me. Going back to school in my thirties. Luckily, you wouldn't know how old I am by looking at me. Also, in my head, age doesn't matter. I don't think it's ever mattered to me when meeting someone or being friends with someone. When I first came over, I noticed that there were 3 popular questions everyone asked.

1. Where are you from?

2. How old are you?

3. What is your major?

It both surprised and bothered me that age was a factor of getting to know somebody. Why should it matter? I'm not just saying that because I am older than most, even when I was younger, I never thought to ask anyone their age when I first met them. There is a small group of students that now know my true identity and it is from telling them, that I realize most kids their age can't handle having an older person among them. There were2 friends, that I was ready to write off after telling them my age and having them react so badly. One of my first emails home, was to mom telling her how it hurt my feelings to have such a reaction to something that seems so insignificant. Just because I'm older does not make mean I don't have feelings that can be squashed. I'm not ashamed of my age and I wouldn't mind telling more people, but I've learned it's best for them to think I'm in my 20's.

All I know is, this is where I'm suppose to be in life. There is no doubt in my mind about the decision to move over here. I love it here! Best decision I ever made!

Thank you to all for the birthday cards and wishes!

Sky Twi Nyu

Last weekend Alyssa, Kerri Ann and I went to a church activity in Northampton. It was a fun day indeed. We went outside for some reason and the sky looked like this: so pretty.

On November 17th I went to a Twiathalon! Super fun! After my last class I sprinted down to the movie theater to watch Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and then Breaking Dawn at midnight! I loved it! I just wish my mom was there to watch Breaking Dawn with. We have gone to the midnight showing together for the past 3 movies and this year we couldn't.

There I am with my Twiathalon ticket

Dinner for the Twiathalon

The next night, Alyssa and I headed to Southbank to a Christmas Festival, we had dinner and then headed to the IMAX to see Breaking Dawn.

Saturday, I headed up to Birmingham. Turns out, Birmingham is the second largest city in England. I went to another Christmas Festival (sorry no pics), but most importantly, I got to hang out with my American high school friend, Michelle Nyulassie!

A bit of Birmingham

Another bit

Michelle and I shopped and gossiped and jabbered on about our lives. It was fantastic to get to hang out with her again. We became friends in high school through pep squad and I haven't seen or hung out with her in year. We kinda just picked up where we left off, we had a great time hanging out together and I can't wait to do it again.

Love this chick! Muah!
