A Letter To My Best Friend(s)

This is tough. Todays assignment is a letter to my best friend. That implies that I have only one. The truth is I have more than one so this letter is to ALL my besties.

Dear BFsF,

I hope this letter doesn't embarrass any of you. Or I hope you are utterly humiliated and this becomes another one of those things that years from now we talk too loudly about in a public place and then laugh until it's uncomfortable for the strangers around us.

Each one of you has a special place in my heart (yack!). Okay, for real. Here is the thing. When I'm with any of you at any given time, it is the funnest. Our inside jokes are by far my favorite and if I had a nickle for every time one us said "Why don't more people want to hang out with us? We are so fun/great/funny!", I could afford to buy my own home.

I like schedules and structure and reliability in life. Having best friends like you gives me that. I know that I can rely on anyone of you to help me bury a body or bail me out of jail or be the person sharing the cell with me. Your friendships are priceless antiques.

I feel grateful daily to have you in my life. To know that I can count on you and you in turn can count on me provides me comfort. Thank you for never judging me, for asking me if I'm okay before you laugh at me for falling down, for being unapologetically honest, for forgiving me when I'm being a boob and for keeping me cool.

I am in the process of making matching bracelets for all of us!

xoxo

Summer Time Adventures

It hasn't been hard to acclimate back to my California ways since being home. One of the things I miss about living in London is constantly seeing new places and visiting foreign lands. I do my best to do the same now that I'm home. Adventures in my own backyard, so to speak.
Richmond held an alumni reception in Santa Monica. As the most recent alum, I really enjoyed seeing others that graduated before me. It was so nice to visit with old friends, eat good food and be so close to the ocean.
The 'rents took me to Bennihana for graduation dinner.
Celebrating Destiny's high school graduation. Welcome to the real world!
I landed a sweet summer job as a nanny for my best friend. I'm not one to sit around the house during the summer. I try my hardest to get the kids out and about. We took a quick trip to Tom's Farm one day.
We have had a lot of pool days.
We rode bikes on the Santa Ana bike trail and ended up at In N Out for lunch.
These two have become fast, best friends.
 Biking brood.
We met friends at Chino's Children's Museum.

As a service project, we made cookies and delivered them to the Corona Fire Department. The men were so nice. They invited us in and let the kids climb on the truck and showed us how stuff worked. Darn the luck, all four of those men had wedding rings on!
We take weekly beach trips. My ward has a beach day and it's so nice for the kids to have other kids to play with and I feel better knowing the women around me are watching each other's kids. The weather has been pretty good. There have been two days that were yucky and we left early to hit the pool.

The kids and I met Kaylene for lunch.
Free Slurpees from 7-11 on 7/11.
We fed the birds at Magnolia Bird Farm.
We go to free movies or $1 movies at least once a week. The kids I watch are great. They are mostly well behaved and their momma taught them manners! I really enjoy hanging out with them and doing fun stuff. What a great job!
I love the 4th of July! One of my favorite holidays. It is nice to be back on U.S. soil for Independence Day. This year, I was put in charge of our ward pancake breakfast. I think it went pretty well, if I do say so myself. It was at a local park and it lasted about two hours. We had almost 200 people show up. I thought it was a great way to kick off the days activities.
My bff, Tammy and her husband came and partook of yummy pancakes
As did these loves. My niece's sang a patriotic medley. I tried super hard to upload the video but blogger is being impossible.
I made my very first pie, all by myself!
 Extra pie dough, sugar cookies.
Daniela and Blake came to stay with me for the weekend! I was so stoked that theses two were coming into town and I had fun playing hostess. I sent them to Huntington Beach for the day and took them to watch Corona's fireworks at night. When we got home, we ate apple pie and visited a bit.

My cute cousin, McKenna is getting married next month, so we are celebrating her bridal shower. There is a lot of love in that Susan sandwich!

Tammy Time!

One of my favorite parts about being back home is visiting and seeing all my friends. Last week, Tammy and I went on a hike up Mount Rubidoux. It was super pretty and really hot. Tammy husband, Kevin was off of work so the three of us had a picnic at the top of the trail.

Best friends since five years old. We met in kindergarten.

Tammy was suppose to be in this picture but Kevin's Freudian slip captured just the two of us.
The three of us at the top of our hike.

The cute couple.
One day, I will be the other half of a cute couple and I wont have to take pictures alone!

A couple of days later, Tammy had me over for dinner (I brought cupcakes, of course.) and I left an art piece on her white board. If you can point out the movie reference and know the movie title, you win!
Dee Dee and I.
There was a great sunset in the hood. I'm going to miss this sky when I'm back in London.

California Adventures

I was home for two weeks and a lot of fun was had by all! I promised more pictures and that is what this post is! A ton of pictures. Follow me on my adventure.
I took Kaylene to Miguel's for her birthday. It was a beautiful day in Costa Mesa and fun lunch with my bestie!

 California sunsets are the best.
My dad took me to Starbucks for some quality time.
Ms. Camille and I went to Ruby's on Huntington Pier.
Before I left the house, my hair was curled.
 Ah!
 OMG. So gorgeous.
There was a ton of surfers in the water that evening.
 RUBY'S!
We watched the sunset while we waited for our table.

Diana and I went to lunch. Check out her cute bracelet!
Tammy and I hiked to the HOLLYWOOD sign. This is a great trail and I can't wait to hike it again.!

 Almost to the top.

The trail takes you to the top of the hill that the sign is on, but you can't actually go TO the sign. It's fenced off.

Besties since we were 5! Can you believe it?
Some of the trees roots grow out of the hillside.
 From the trail.
After my hike, my mom and I went to get pedicures.

I took my mom to Disneyland for Mother's Day. Here we are in front of Soarin'.
This place reminded me of Maggie. I laughed at the their sign for hours. It's in the Hollywood section of California Adventure.
Carsland was GREAT fun! I'm in the front seat on the left.
My mom is in the back seat on the left.

Back middle. I love Tower of Terror.
 Tea Party area.

 California Screaming, front. Bad picture.

This Indian reminded me of Beck!
